Steel Authority of India Ltd gained 1.67% today to trade at Rs 176.85. The BSE Metal index is up 1.01% to quote at 42218.2. The index is up 5.84 % over last one month. Among the other constituents of the index, National Aluminium Company Ltd increased 1.63% and Hindalco Industries Ltd added 1.47% on the day. The BSE Metal index went up 35.17 % over last one year compared to the 4.34% fall in benchmark SENSEX.
Steel Authority of India Ltd has added 9.47% over last one month compared to 5.84% gain in BSE Metal index and 2.25% rise in the SENSEX. On the BSE, 74142 shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 8.53 lakh shares in the past one month. The stock hit a record high of Rs 209.7 on 14 May 2026. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 118.1 on 28 Aug 2025.

Certain tele-fraudsters / unscrupulous and unregistered portfolio managers call customers or SMS them on the pretext of providing investment tips and lure them to invest through their bogus firms by promising huge profits.
Such deceitful callers ask the customer to share his/her login credentials with passwords to allow trading in their accounts, assuring huge returns.
Often trades done in the customer’s accounts are far from the best interest of the customers. Holdings of customers are often sold and with the funds, trades are then placed in illiquid securities at unrealistic prices.
At times, the holdings of customers are sold at prices detrimental to the customer. The so-called “portfolio manager” assures profits, which naturally does not materialize. Customers are deceived into providing access to their trading accounts, thereby allowing such fraudsters access to funds and securities available to execute trades, injurious to the customer’s interest.
