Larsen & Toubro secures order worth Rs 1,000-Rs 2,500 crore for Dubai airport’s APM system

Larsen & Toubro Ltd. remains at Rs 4054.9, after recent declines saw the stock slip 0.39% over the last week. Larsen & Toubro has secured a large order, valued between Rs 1,000 and Rs 2,500 Cr, to design and build the Automated People Mover (APM) System for Phase 1 of Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai, in consortium with Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI). The project, undertaken by Dubai Aviation City Corporation, involves turnkey delivery of the APM system, including infrastructure, systems, and testing, with L&T responsible for design, procurement, delivery, and integration of critical components. This project strengthens L&T’s position in the railway and transit sector across West Asia, building on its existing experience with metro projects in Mumbai, Dhaka, and Jakarta. Larsen & Toubro is a USD 32 billion Indian multinational. Trading volume reached 2.67 lakh shares today, a decline of 88.38% compared to the one-week average volume. Larsen & Toubro Ltd. posted a modest gain of 12.88% year-over-year, outperforming the 3.61% loss registered by the NIFTY50 index.
